Garden Working Bee

We all have different gifts and passions. Some people are gifted at cooking and passionate about children’s ministry. They can be in their element when they are providing food for our kids on Sunday or our Music Makers on Wednesday or casseroles for Families in need. Others are gifted in singing, in teaching Gods Word, in coming alongside those who are grieving or making newcomers feel welcome.

And then there are those who love to garden…..

After a relatively dry period, there has been some good rain over the last few weeks. This means that the new church gardens have had a nice soaking! As such, it is an opportune time to add some mulch to the gardens to help retain that moisture. This will hopefully help to save on water used in the garden in the future and will also help to save on the church’s water bill!

Today, a few of the church’s green thumbs combined their gloves, shovels, wheel barrows and buckets with their strength, stamina, guts and grit to form a working bee to tackle the job of laying out the mulch. A few new natives were planted as well.

Why not visit us this coming Sunday at one of our regular services on the corner of Regent St and St James Rd in New Lambton and then take the opportunity to have a look at the garden to see if you think our team did a good job!
