Prayer Morning Tea

This morning about thirty of our congregation braved the drizzle and cold to gather together in our hall for a Prayer Morning Tea which, by a happy coincidence, was held at the same day and time as the 2026 Australian National Day of Prayer.

We started by enjoying a nice hot beverage along with a selection of delicious treats. We had some time to chat, say hello and complain about the weather (or rejoice for those of us who are gardeners!)

We then brought our mugs into the main hall and joined in a time of praise by singing a few songs and hearing about some recent examples of answered prayer in the life of our church.

We were reminded that our God is capable not only of answering our prayers, but of doing so much more. As per Pauls’s letter to the Ephesians where he says…

Ephesians 3:20 – “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us”

Finally, we gathered around some tables in small groups to offer our prayers. A few of the things people prayed about included…

– Good government, a turning to Christ and church growth across our nation.
– Kid’s ministry, youth and growth groups in our church.
– Missionaries in the field, including those that our church supports.
– The world in turmoil including the Middle East, Europe and the 100+ wars in the world.
– The future of our own church, other churches in our region and churches across the nation.

Our God doesn’t just care about the weighty topics of the world, He cares about us individually as a Father who cares for His children. So a special part of our prayer time involved us offering a short prayer for an issue weighing on the heart of the person sitting to our right.

It was a special time and opportunity to join together with each other, and with our brothers and sisters across Australia in prayer and praise.
