World Day of Prayer 2026 – Nigeria

On Friday, March 6, Christians from churches in New Lambton and the surrounding area, were invited to join together at All Saints ANew, New Lambton to celebrate the World Day of Prayer 2026 with a special focus on Nigeria and a theme ‘I will give you rest: Come’.

Participants joined in prayer to worship our God, sing his praises, and to hear stories of the lives of our Christian sisters in Nigeria who despite poverty, oppression and persecution have placed their trust firmly in Jesus.

Our speaker talked about the hope that we have in Jesus, even in the midst of difficulty and despair. Although we often look to other sources to fill emptiness in our hearts, Jesus is the only one who can provide true fulfilment and satisfaction.

John 4:14 – “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

Ultimately, Jesus as living water is not an abstract promise. It is a personal invitation.

He stands before thirsty hearts and says, “Come.”

Come with your questions, come with your regrets, come with your exhaustion and come with your hope.

In a world that leaves so many of us parched, Jesus does not simply point to water. He is the water!
