Have you ever wondered what all the fuss about Jesus is? Why are Christians always asking people to come along to church? Do you have a Christian friend who seems a bit “different” to everyone else? Why do Christians seem to be so sure about what they believe about Jesus?
For the past 5 weeks on a Wednesday evening, 16 people have been gathering in our newly refurbished church building to participate in the Discover course to try to find the answers to these and many other questions.
Participants enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal at the start of each session and then we gathered in small groups to watch some presentations together, have some discussions and ask questions.
Some important things to note about the Discover course were that . . .
- No one was asked to pray aloud, read aloud or answer questions about the Bible.
- No one was pressured to believe or commit to anything.
- Everyone was encouraged to ask any questions at all, either in the session or privately/anonymously.
- Everyone was given the opportunity to try some Finnish Liquorice. (Optional of course!)
We plan to run the Discover course again later this year so please let us know if you’re interested in coming along, inviting someone or if you have any questions at all about the course.
